great going guys we got to defend our title once more i have full faith we can n we will!!!

had some clashes n heated conversation with a fellow but this is a part of organizing isn't it

Another great thing we managed to get Mr. RAMMOHAN to judge the event THE ENTREPRENEUR organised by EMD cell CSE headr lots about him i am so glad that he agreed to judge our event eager to meet him!!!

Tent finalized for SPECTACOL Open theater under the banner of OpenSourceClub....

Coming to some thing all together different thakur sir a prof at college introduced my team n me to a guy who specialized in networking and wanted us to do a project on network topology ...

not so keen to do it but i think HUM FASS GYE HAI!!!

preparations for cultural started in full swing : i should join in now things on management of things almost done nice too see Juniors n seniors bond so well and having fun

bad day for publicity team most colleges didnt allow help desks a few actually very few entries than expected !! got thee to four calls for enquiry an d 3 gals :P one with accented English (great fun )

POLARIS 09 : rebel wins it

Hey just got the idea why not blog abt what goes into making of the event !!!

So here i am blogging abt polaris 09 !!!

Being the president now i have loads of duties on my head n i have to manage things come what may!As of now i think i am doin a great job (plus i am njoyin ma work)

I always had this feeling that i would get what i deserved and I DID Good to see people OUTSIDE ma branch happy that i am the head of cse good to hear their comments n compliments and many ppl still in da shock how did i manage it... bappa ka haath ho to saab hota hai :)

Things are going fine

• POSTER done ( thanks mangesh .... you did a rocking job with it)
• DOCUMENTATION done ( good work neha G. best secretary i could get its fun working)
• FLYER'S done( some good some bad)
• i DON'T like the cse logo but no time to change it
• BACKDROP work going on came up with some new ideas ...thinking of some newer ones
• TSHIRTS : a dicey one (pata nai kya honey wala hai ...hope i turns out good ... fingers crossed )
• PUBLICITY : day1 not so good lets hope to rope in more entries
• WEBSITE : up and running a great one thanks mohinish for all the help
• OPEN SOURCE HUT : Ideas of a movie theater a great one lets see da response
• CULTURAL : last yr in college hope this one turns out to be da best
• JUDGES :Still need judges for events

Everyone has the ability to become a film-maker. Use simple editing tools to create your film and unleash the Tarantino in you.
Problem Statement:
The participants will be provided with random audio visual clips, images and software tools to edit them. They can interpret a theme from these provisions and create a video of 1 minute.
Event Details:

Event Rules:
Last date for registration – 15th August 2009.
Each team will can have 2/3 members.
Time Duration-4 hrs.
Entry fees-Rs.100 per team.
The organizers reserve all rights to change any or all of the above rules as they deem fit. All changes will be highlighted on the website.
The decision of the judges and the organizers will be final and binding.

Judging Criteria:

Innovative thinking.
Degree of depiction.
Utilization of software.

Introduction :

Grupo-Caso is a fun filled and innovative group event to explore different aspects of human mind. It emphasizes on the combined effort of the group working at different levels. It’s a platform where presence of mind and good programming skills plays a vital role.

Event Details:

The event comprise of four other sub-events held under different categories. The details of these can be summarized as follows:
BLIND C: It is implementing a C program with a blank screen. Display on screen would be allowed only after the compilation of the program.
JUNKYARD WARS: It is preparing something innovative from the scratch. Material required would be provided by the committee.
JAM: A literary event wherein a certain word would be given and linking it to various things or environments would be done for a period of 1 minute.
TREASURE HUNT: This is an event that deals with presence of mind. Herein various clues need to be linked to get to the destination.

Event Rules:

Eliminations will be held before hand through an aptitude test.
Each team would comprise of 6 members.
Registration fees : Rs. 120/- per team.
Team needs to divide itself for various sub-events involved.
Information on splitting of the team will be given on the spot.
Final result will be the grand total of all the sub-events.

Judging Criteria:
Programming skills
Efficiency of code.
Innovative ideas.
Presence of mind .

A Marketing Event

THE ENTREPRENEUR is a marketing event organized under banner of EDC.

Rules:
The team consists of 4 members.
Registration fees is Rs. 50/- for Round 1 and Rs. 100/- for Round 2
Open for all branches.
Duration of two days.

Event details:

Day 1:

Day 1 has two rounds.
Round 1:
Round 1 is the bail-out round.
The contestants will be given a situation of a company in a bad state and they will be required to plan a strategy to bail out the company. The contestants are required to give five situations to tackle the situation. The contestants are required to plan their strategy according to the following rules.
Five situations will be given.
750 maximum words.
Extra points for proper formatting.
Marking will be based on solutions provided.

Round 2:
Teams will be asked to choose any IT product /service of their choice.
They will be required to fill a summary form and make a business plan (format will be provided) along with a presentation of the same.

Day 2:

Disclosed after day1

Prizes:
First prize: Rs. 7000/-
Second prize: Rs 5000/-
Third prize: Rs. 3000/-
